Office Visits
Your First Visit
We are always excited to meet patients on their first visit to our office. At your initial appointment you will meet with Dr. Walvoord and our treatment coordinator for a thorough examination and discussion of treatment options. This important visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs and treatment goals. We know your time is valuable, so to expedite treatment, we may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records. The records include digital x-rays, digital photos and impressions of your teeth, which will be used to develop a personalized treatment plan.
During the initial examination we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment.
- Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are the payment options?
Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 1 to 2 hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
